Online Retailers Confirm Final Pre-Christmas Order Deadlines
With Christmas drawing closer by the day, consumers in the UK who have yet to buy the gifts they need may be starting to panic about whether or not they have enough time left to get everything delivered before December 25th.
Thankfully, the majority of the nation’s biggest sites which offer safe shopping online have now confirmed the deadlines for ordering that customers have to meet or else face the prospect of a package not being shipped until the New Year.
Amazon, the most prominent e-commerce operator in the country, is allowing standard orders to be placed up until the 21st of December. Those customers who are willing to pay for next-day delivery, or who are subscribed to Amazon Prime, will have until the 23rd to get their order in, leaving just enough time to wrap everything once it arrives on Christmas Eve.
Perhaps the most impressive last-minute shipping option offered by Amazon is only available in certain major cities, including London and Glasgow. Same-day delivery on December 24th itself is offered, so long as you complete the transaction before midday.
Fashion outlet Asos is dealing with last-minute orders by offering click and collect opportunities up until the 19th of December. Paying for next-day delivery is an option until the 23rd and, like Amazon, it will provide same-day delivery to certain parts of the country on the 24th.
Debenhams is a little different to its competitors, largely because it sells a wide range of products and so shipping times will vary according to what is ordered. Standard delivery is offered until the 17th for a guaranteed pre-Christmas arrival, while next-day orders can be placed until the 21st.
Many other retailers have posted their delivery deadlines on their websites, so check there for more information.
