Tesco consolidates online brands
While the F&F brand of clothing offered by supermarket giant Tesco has been available to buy via safe shopping online thanks to its own distinct website, this setup is coming to an end in the near future as the firm looks to unify its e-commerce offerings.
Customers will still be able to buy F&F items from the Tesco Direct site, but next month the standalone online outlet dedicated to this brand will be closing its digital doors, according to Internet Retailing.
An official statement from the firm revealed that it was aware of the inconvenience facing customers who want to buy clothing and other items from Tesco but currently have to visit more than one website to get the job done.
Tesco Direct will, therefore, become the one-stop shop for all products that the retailer offers that do not fall into the category of food. Although unfortunately, that means that those who already have an account with the F&F site will need to create a new one to proceed with purchases in the future.
In addition to these changes, Tesco has announced revisions to its delivery charges. Click and collect will only be free on orders over £30, with a £2 charge levied for in-store pickup on anything under this amount.
To counteract this, standard home delivery will now cost just £3, with next day services available from just £5. That is a saving of 95p on each, which will please people who do not want to visit their local store after placing an order via safe shopping online.
The fees charged for click and collect on orders made through the Tesco Direct site may seem steep, but the retailer is clearly looking to encourage more people to visit its bricks and mortar outlets as a result.
